Welcome!
6/22/09 At the HOA meeting last Friday the board said we will hear an opening date announcement within the next 10 days (June 29). I understand the uncertainty and disappointment this news brings for our July guests. I personally think the complex could re-open early July (my opinion) but also understand and will honor anyone's refund request. Please let me know your decision.
6/15/09 We recently heard encouraging news. Electrical and water may be restored to front of the complex within the next couple weeks. After that, when the safety inspections are complete, we can begin firming up plans to accomodate our remaining guests. If you were booked for WhataVIEW, we can move you to the brand new SeasideVIEW (closer to the Gulf.) OceanLoversVIEW was not affected at all. Also, the elevator parts are in and will take about 2 weeks to repair, YES! The future is still uncertain and we will know more after the montly HOA meeting this Friday. If anyone wants a refund please e-mail me with your desires so you can make other arrangements. -Dave
6/4/09 As many of you saw on the news, The Maravilla had a big fire in the north section of the complex yesterday. Everyone got out safe, thankfully. According to preliminary reports, the fire started accidently by welders working on the railing in the far back. Pam and I lost 2 units and still have 2 untouched. IF the safe part of the complex re-opens soon we can accomodate all of our currently scheduled guests if you choose. If not, we will issue everyone a refund, as we did last September after the hurricane, don't worry. Please be patient with us until more information is available. Our phones are very busy and the best way to communicate with us is with e-mail so we can document your wishes and not overlook anything. I should be able to answer everyone's e-mail early next week as we fit in our son's wedding celebration these next couple days. Thanks for your patience and I'm so sorry for the uncertainty right now. -Dave
5/26/09 Our new 1 bedroom condo "SeasideVIEW" is almost ready for you to arrive June 1 2009. Everything is brand new, appliances, furniture, linens, paint and more. The view is the closest to the water of all our suites. Now accepting reservations!
5/20/09 Hurricane update: The Maravilla re-opened April 6, 2009, YES! We are accepting reservations now for June 1, 2009. Our 2 suites look as good or better than the pictures with fresh paint in "WhataVIEW." You will love the new colors. Our cleaners have "OceanLoversVIEW" shining and squeaky clean. Work continues on the complex exterior, fence welding, walkway ceilings, paint and hallway carpeting all planned for the next few months. The main pool is open and cleaned twice a week. We noticed some stain on the pool bottom from the hurricane and had a few cleaning problems last week, but maintenance will have it ready for the Memorial day holiday. I watched work on the hot tub begin today, new heater, paint and decking. No completion date yet, however. The elevators are scheduled for repair in August. Expect work to continue around the complex throughout the summer during daylight hours, however the nights should be quiet. Many owners also will probably be working on their units throughout the summer. The Galveston we know and love will soon be back! Please read our policies "must read" page on this web site.
My wife and I invite you to stay in one of our 2 Galveston condos, "OceanLoversVIEW" (2 bedroom) or "WhataVIEW" (1 bedroom.) We remodeled each suite just the way we would want it, hoping you will enjoy it too.

As a photographer from Denver, I enjoy the variety of waterfront photo opportunities on Galveston island. Our mountains provide few locations for dolphins, pelicans, or wading birds. We even use different fishing gear here, go figure. If you are not familiar with The Maravilla Resort check out the location photos here. |
